For several years, the town of Is-sur-Tille has participated in the national “towns and villages in flower” competition. Marks are awarded not only for flower quality but are based also on the environment in which the whole community has linked its horticultural displays together. So the trees, too, play an important part in enabling the jury to reach its decisions. |

Two
flowers for Is-sur-Tille In
1994, Is-sur-Tille was awarded first prize in the regional competition
as well as a placing in the national competition which allowed the town
to add one flower to the “towns and villages in flower” plaque. In 1999, the town was awarded a second flower by a regional jury. With this award, Is-sur-Tille joined the select club among the 5 communes in the département, to have 2 flowers. In the Cote-d’Or, only Dijon and Beaune have 4 flowers, while Quétigny and Talant have three. Translated by Graham Paterson
